M Armando Salas
Armando Salas-Amaro has been a member of Tiger & Dragon (T&D) Kenpo Karate for over 20 years. He has trained the T & D competition team for local, regional, state-wide, and national martial arts tournaments.
In the early 1990's, Mr. Salas-Amaro managed a T & D Studio for Bart Vale in Miami, Fl (Sunset) and was also a senior instructor at the T & D Headquarter Studio in S.W. 8th St. He has competed and judged in tournaments hosted by the American Kenpo Karate Association (AKKA), and Bart Vale's Battle of the Warriors (BOW) I (1988); BOW II (1990); BOW III (1991); and BOW (IV) 1992; BOW (V) 1993; BOW (VI) 1994; BOW VII (1995).
Salas-Amaro continues to train in Chinese Kenpo directly under his original instructor Master Bart Vale on a regular basis and is diligently pursing his progression in Kenpo. He has taught at the Tracy's "Gathering of the Eagles" Seminars. He also takes advantage of participating in seminars given by world renowned martial artists in Kenpo, Kick Boxing, and Jiu-Jitsu.
Mr. Salas-Amaro has graduated from Florida International University, St. Thomas University, and University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies. He is currently active as an administrator in higher education.
At the Gathering of Eagles event in Dallas in August, 2017, he will be teaching the katas that were taught to GM Bart Vale during his training with Professor Chow. These katas incorporate the strong, rapid punching, hammer strikes, low kicks and solid stances that Prof. W.K.S. Chow was known for.
