GM Nancy Lee Cerio Ambrosia
Nancy Lee Cerio was a fighter among fighters and a master instructor along with her famous husband Nick Cerio. They paved a Kenpo Path though The New England States and helped create many Champions such as Rocky DiRico, Christine Bannon-Rodrigues, Don Rodrigues, Michael Burton and her son Bill Ambrosia who inherits the legacy.
Nancy Lee Cerio (Gajoli), 74, the “Rose of Kenpo”, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Florence (Lauzon) Gajoli.
Nancy was the owner of Nick Cerio's Kenpo and founder and creator of LeeDoKan Kenpo now Cerio-Ambrosia Martial Arts Studio. She was the defensive tactics instructor for the RI Municipal Police Academy for twenty years. She was a member and board member of the International Kenpo Council of Grand Masters.
Nancy Lee was inducted into the Kenpo International Hall of Fame and was a recipient of many prestigious awards. An award has been created in her honor, the "Nancy Lee Cerio Award" for the Woman of the Year to recognize a female that has displayed exemplary leadership and dedication to the expansion and growth within the martial arts community. The award will be presented at the Gathering of Eagles in Dallas, Texas, August 12th, 2017.
She leaves her two children, Maria Ambrosia and William R. Ambrosia and her companion, Norman Landry. She has five grandchildren.
She was the former wife of the late Nicholas R. Cerio and helped in the development of “Nick Cerio’s Kenpo”.
